thomas l. wright, senior v.p. supply chain services 

As Yankee's Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Services, Tom Wright is responsible for the development of group purchasing contracts and supply chain management programs to reduce costs and improve efficiencies for the membership.

Prior to joining Yankee Alliance in September 1996, Tom spent eight years with MASCO Services, Inc., part of a major shared service organization composed of downtown Boston teaching hospitals. As Director, New Business Development, Tom worked with representatives from member institutions to develop cost saving programs based upon the economies of scale derived when multiple institutions combine their purchasing power.

Prior to MASCO, Tom was employed at Deaconess Hospital, Boston, MA. for fourteen years. As Purchasing Manager at this 500 bed teaching hospital Tom focused on operations improvement, product standardization, and collaboration with other hospitals as his primary methods to reduce costs and improve efficiencies. While at Deaconess Tom represented the hospital's Materials Management Department at Yankee Alliance and held a term as Chairman of the Contract Advisory Committee at Healthcare Services of New England (HSNE), a regional GPO serving New England hospitals and nursing homes.

Tom's professional affiliations include previous membership with the Healthcare Materials Management Society, where he served as President of the New England Chapter. He is a Certified Senior with the American Society for Healthcare Materials Management where he served on the national board for two years. He also was President of the Massachusetts Society for Healthcare Materials Management where he spearheaded the society's affiliation with ASHMM, the American Hospital Association's materials management society.
