New London's Lawrence & Memorial Hospital plans to break ground this spring on a new $34.5 million cancer center that will feature new construction of a 47,000 square-foot comprehensive facility in Waterford.

The new center will include extensive radiation and medical oncology programs, along with state-of-the-art treatment technologies.

Massachusetts-based Suffolk Construction has been hired as the contractor for the project and the architecture is TRO Jung|Brannen.

Construction of the Cancer Center is expected to being this spring with completion in scheduled for September 2013.
