Ellis Medicine, Nathan Littauer land state grants
The Business Review, posted 01/04/12

Ellis Medicine and Nathan Littauer Hospital have been awarded $100,000 each under the state’s Doctors Across New York Program.

The state Department of Health awarded a total of $500,000 in two-year grants to providers who practice medicine in the underserved areas of the state. The money will support recruitment and retention of physicians through salary enhancements, sign-on bonuses, loan repayment and other direct payments.

Schenectady-based Ellis was awarded $100,000 for its family medicine program, which serves inner city residents. Nathan Littauer, in Gloversville, Fulton County, will use its grant to support a urology program for rural communities.
